about roger

Experienced, engaged, and genuinely collaborative.

I believe effective therapy requires more than warmth and good listening. It requires curiosity, honesty, careful attention to patterns, and a willingness to engage directly with what is getting in the way.

Most importantly, I want therapy to feel like something we are doing together—with clear attention to what matters to you and whether our work is actually helping.

My approach

A thoughtful, informed, and active approach

My work is informed by relational, attachment-oriented, systemic, and experiential approaches. I am trained in a range of theoretical approaches so rather than forcing every couple or person into the same theoretical treatment model, I adapt the work to the people in front of me. Together, we look closely at the patterns shaping your experience: what happens, what drives it, how you respond, and what tends to happen next. Understanding those patterns matters. Then we work on creating different choices and responses that can take hold outside the therapy room.

Therapy should be a place where insight leads to meaningful change.

My education

Client-Centered Education & Additional Training

I completed my graduate studies for my Master of Arts degree in Counseling: Psychology at Saybrook University and pursued post-graduate specialization work in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), The Gottman Method, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy, among others.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington state, License #LH60906638.

Warm without being vague

A strong therapeutic relationship matters. So do clarity, accountability, and an honest assessment of whether the work is helping.

Direct without being harsh

I will listen carefully and treat your experience with respect. I will also name patterns, ask difficult questions, and help us stay focused on the work that brought you to therapy.

Respectful of difference

I work with diverse and neurodiverse adults and couples. I approach relationships, family structure, culture, and ways of processing the world with curiosity rather than assumption.

Experience with demanding, analytical environments

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 12 years working as a program manager at a local tech giant. I understand environments that reward speed, logic, performance, independence, and constant problem-solving, and the ways those pressures can follow people home.

That background helps me work effectively with people who are thoughtful, capable, and accustomed to analyzing complicated problems, but who find that emotional and relational patterns do not respond to analysis alone.

You do not need to work in technology to work with me. But if you do, you will not need to spend much time explaining the culture of demanding work, complex organizations, or constant change.

Let's see whether working together feels like a good fit.

A complimentary 30-minute consultation gives us a chance to talk briefly about what is bringing you to therapy and what you hope might be different.
